Google debuts new Pixel phones with Android 12 and in-house processors
Google Pixel smartphones are pretty popular in the android society for raw and pure android experience and on top of powerful components handpicked by Google Staff. Current Pixel phones are using Qualcomm processors. Qualcomm is a known top-notch processor and chip for a broader market around the globe.
Alphabet Inc. is the parent company of tech giant Google. They have a search engine, video platform, cloud technology, software, business and personal niche products, and physical intelligent devices. Pixel phones are pretty popular around the globe, especially for their camera and Googles support system/OS. Qualcomm processors powered the phones for roe than 15 years. It was since Google became interested in exploring the smartphone area. Google’s next-generation Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro phones will be powered by a Tensor processor.
The Tensor will utilise more machine learning (ML) for unlocking new opportunities in the palm of a hand with advanced computing technology. On top of that, new computing resources, algorithms, and best data for the user can be used, which will supposedly make the experience better, similarly to other machine learning technologies. The team behind Pixel designed the silicon to utilise more of the chip they put inside the phone and run Google’s computational photography models. Tensor has developed a security core for new devices, which are considered the higher end. Google’s phones were always for niche people who want the raw android experience where Samsung, son, Huawei, Xiaomi, and major brands are in high competition. What makes them truly special is their support from the google team and superior camera. However, some sensors can be better than others in specific terms. Camera to speech recognition is also revamped on the new Tensor-based Pixel smartphones.
The Pixel 3 had Snapdragon 845 mobile processor with fast wireless charging technology. The octa-core processor and 4 GB RAM delivered tremendous value for money performance and praised the camera. So, the lineup till Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro was a waiting game. The Pixel 6 Pro also comes packing with a 6.7-inch QHD+ display. And that’s not all; a 120 Hz, high refresh rate display has been added with a sliding curve. That’s an incredible refresh rate for a phone where many computer users have a 60 Hz monitor. Though larger cards and chips power them, it gives a great sense of comparison where we came this far. The Pixel 6 will have a 90 Hz display on the 6.4 FHD+ screens. The new Sony Xperia 1 III is a great competitor for the pro version of Pixel though Xperia comes packed with always using 4K display, placing it more on the enthusiast side of users.
Amongst many differences, both the phones will have new in-house Tensor SoC. It is a Titan M2 security chip. The fingerprint sensor is going to be placed on the screen. Of course, there will be colour options, but the technology fascinates us the most. Apple A-series chips, Samsung, Huawei are the largest chip consumers through MediaTek processors compete with Snapdragon. In a tweet, Alphabet Inc CEO Sundar Pichai shared excitement towards the new custom Google Tensor chip under development for four years. He said, “Tensor builds off of our two decades of computing experience, and it’s our biggest innovation in Pixel to date.” Also announced a release date for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro in the fall. Google has not shared CPU and GPU designer information, but they have market-leading performance according to benchmarks. CPU, GPU, and RAM combined is the SoC
