NinjaOne expands IT operations platform with browser management and native AI governance
Unified IT operations provider NinjaOne has launched NinjaOne Browser Management, natively integrating browser-level visibility, policy controls, and artificial intelligence governance directly into its core endpoint management platform.

The expansion addresses a growing operational blind spot for Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and internal IT departments: the migration of enterprise workflows from installed desktop applications to web-based SaaS platforms and generative AI tools operating within ungoverned commercial browsers.
Bringing Shadow AI and Unsanctioned Extensions Under Control
As employees increasingly rely on web browsers to access standalone AI models and cloud utilities, IT administrators face escalating risks from "Shadow AI" data leakage and unvetted third-party browser extensions.
NinjaOne Browser Management allows administrators to govern these interactions from the same console used for device monitoring, automated patching, backup, and remote access:
Real-Time Extension Inventories: Delivers live, continuous tracking of all active browser extensions across managed endpoints, enabling administrators to approve or block add-ons based on dynamic risk scoring.
Direct AI Data-Leak Prevention: Provides centralized visibility into browser-based AI usage, giving IT teams the capability to restrict unapproved AI URLs, block risky extensions, and prevent proprietary corporate data from being submitted into unaligned public AI models.
Unified Policy Enforcement: Establishes standardized web access rules, security configurations, and URL filtering across Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and other major browsers without requiring users to switch to dedicated enterprise browser software.
Zero-Change-Management Deployment for MSP Workflows
A central differentiator for NinjaOne’s implementation is its native integration into existing endpoint agents. Because the solution monitors and governs existing browser installations, organizations can deploy AI governance and web security policies without installing secondary browser infrastructure or retraining end users.
"By unifying Browser Management with our IT operations platform, we're extending the management model customers already trust to the one layer of the endpoint stack that is still ungoverned," said Sal Sferlazza, CEO of NinjaOne. "And because employees don't have to switch to a new browser, organizations don't have to worry about change management to implement the solution."
Tighter Alignment Between IT Operations and Security Teams
Industry analysts point out that while security operations centers (SOCs) frequently focus on network firewalls and endpoint detection, the browser has evolved into an ungoverned operational layer.
By embedding browser controls directly into its multi-tenant platform, currently supporting nearly 40,000 customers worldwide, NinjaOne is providing MSPs with a practical framework to enforce AI compliance, reduce shadow IT exposure, and meet tightening cyber insurance requirements across client environments.
