In a major move to merge conversational AI with professional creative workflows, Adobe has launched free integrations for its three flagship applications, Photoshop, Adobe Express, and Acrobat—directly within the ChatGPT interface.

The integration, available to all of ChatGPT's estimated 800 million weekly users, allows for the execution of common image editing, design, and document tasks simply by typing commands into the chatbot, eliminating the need to leave the chat window or pay for a subscription.
Creativity accessible to everyone
The partnership leverages the "agentic AI" capabilities of ChatGPT, enabling users to perform complex, multi-step creative tasks using natural language prompts.
What Users Can Do Directly in ChatGPT (Free):
Adobe Photoshop: Upload an image and command edits like blurring or removing the background, adjusting brightness, contrast, and exposure, or applying creative effects (e.g., Glitch, Duotone).
Adobe Express: Generate, browse, and customize designs (like event invitations or social posts) using professional templates. Users can swap text, images, and animate elements.
Adobe Acrobat: Manage and organize PDFs, including editing text, extracting tables, merging multiple files into one document, compressing files, and redacting sensitive information.
Users simply need to type the name of the Adobe app followed by an instruction (e.g., “Adobe Photoshop, help me remove the background of this photo”). ChatGPT then invokes the appropriate tool and guides the user through the process, often providing sliders for fine-tuning.
Strategic implications
This rollout is a significant competitive response in the AI arms race. For Adobe, it's a strategic move to introduce its powerful, industry-leading tools to a massive new audience, particularly users who may find the full desktop suites intimidating.
The move also positions Adobe to compete directly with other creative tools like Canva and Figma, which have also integrated with ChatGPT. By offering these capabilities for free, Adobe lowers the barrier to entry, betting that users who need the full power and precision will eventually upgrade to the standalone Creative Cloud apps, which remain seamlessly linked to the in-chat experience.
The integration is available globally on ChatGPT desktop, web, and iOS versions, with Android support for Photoshop and Acrobat slated to arrive soon.
