In a move set to bolster cybersecurity for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), 1Password has made its Enterprise Password Manager (MSP Edition) available on the Pax8 Marketplace. This strategic partnership directly addresses the growing need for robust identity and access management solutions among managed service providers (MSPs), who are on the front lines of securing the modern workplace.

Perfect solution to a real problem

This collaboration is more than just a new product listing. It’s a direct response to a critical security gap in the market. According to recent industry reports, credential-related issues remain one of the leading causes of data breaches, a risk that is compounded by the proliferation of SaaS applications, distributed workforces, and the rising adoption of agentic AI.

1Password’s password manager offers a centralized console for multi-tenant management, allowing MSPs to onboard clients, configure policies, and monitor usage from a single pane of glass. It also features a flexible, consumption-based billing model with no license minimums, which aligns with how MSPs operate their businesses.

The integration with the Pax8 marketplace also unlocks seamless workflows and billing integrations with popular Professional Services Automation (PSA) tools like ConnectWise, Kaseya, and Autotask, streamlining operations and reducing administrative overhead.

For 1Password, the move allows the company to significantly expand its channel presence and reach over 40,000 MSPs across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC. It also signals a shift toward a channel-first strategy, where 1Password leverages a trusted distributor to get its security solution into the hands of a broader audience.

“MSPs are on the front lines of securing today’s modern workplace, managing distributed access, evolving threats, and rising expectations to make the right IT and security decisions for their clients,” said David Faugno, CEO at 1Password.

“At 1Password, we deliver access security built for the way MSPs work, empowering them to safeguard client data with confidence and unlock growth by creating greater value for their customers. Joining the Pax8 Marketplace puts 1Password directly into an ecosystem MSPs already trust, advancing our channel-first strategy and extending our reach to more MSPs around the world,” he concluded.
