JumpCloud unifies IT: New Asset Management Tool replaces Manual Spreadsheets

JumpCloud Inc., the unified identity, device, and access management provider, has announced the launch of JumpCloud Asset Management, a new solution designed to eliminate the reliance on manual spreadsheets and disparate point solutions for tracking organizational hardware. The move centralizes IT asset data, creating a single "source of truth" to streamline operations from procurement to device retirement.

Simplifying the entire asset lifecycle

JumpCloud Asset Management is integrated directly into the company’s existing platform, which already manages identity, access, and devices. This integration means IT administrators can now handle hardware asset management from the same console, reducing complexity and increasing efficiency.

Key benefits of the new solution include:

• Automated and accurate inventory: Managed devices are automatically tracked and synchronized, providing a real-time, unified view of all hardware assets (Windows, macOS, Linux, and mobile devices). Unmanaged accessories and un-enrolled devices can be easily imported via CSV.

• Complete lifecycle management: The tool tracks every stage of a device's life, from its initial purchase (procurement) through deployment, maintenance, reassignment, and automatic retirement upon device decommissioning or wiping.

• Smarter financial decisions: By centralizing details like purchase dates, warranty information, and depreciation schedules, IT teams can make data-driven budget decisions, optimize replacement cycles, and avoid unexpected costs.

• Compliance and reporting: The platform maintains a complete, immutable audit trail of every change to an asset's record, simplifying the process of maintaining compliance with regulatory standards like SOX and ISO 27001.
