Sophos and Spektrum labs launch ‘insurability fasttrack’ to turn real-time security into lower insurance premiums

Last week, Sophos and Spektrum Labs announced the launch of the Insurability FastTrack Program aimed at bridging the persistent gap between cybersecurity performance and insurance eligibility. The partnership integrates Sophos’ Managed Detection and Response (MDR) telemetry with Spektrum’s continuous resilience validation platform, allowing organizations to provide insurers with cryptographically verified proof that their defenses are active and properly configured.

The program aims to eliminate the "guesswork" of traditional insurance applications, moving the industry away from static annual questionnaires toward a model of continuous, data-backed underwriting.

The ‘verifiable proof’ breakthrough

The core of the partnership is the integration of Spektrum’s Fusion Platform directly into the Sophos Central management console.

The system generates "Resilience Tokens" - cryptographically signed evidence that a company’s Sophos MDR is not just installed, but optimized. These tokens act as a "green light" for insurers, proving that critical controls are functioning in real-time.

Traditionally, underwriters have lacked visibility into the actual efficacy of a firm’s security stack. This program provides direct visibility into MDR-prevented incidents and configuration health, transforming security from a "promise" into a measurable discipline.

If a security setting deviates from the "insured baseline" (e.g., a critical endpoint loses its MDR connection), the platform can trigger automated remediation to restore the correct posture, maintaining the organization's "insurable" status.

Financial incentives: Binding in minutes

By providing a higher level of transparency, the program aims to significantly reduce the friction and cost of obtaining high-quality cyber coverage.

Leading global carriers, including Tokio Marine HCC and HSB, have joined a "trusted panel" for the program. Organizations using the FastTrack can often achieve policy binding in minutes rather than weeks.

And because Sophos MDR users demonstrate a "materially stronger cyber risk profile," participating insurers are offering preferred terms and lower premiums for those who can provide Spektrum-validated proof of resilience.

For small and mid-sized businesses, the insurance savings can often offset a significant portion of the cost of the MDR subscription itself, making elite 24/7 security more accessible.

The new industry standard: Security and insurance as one

Executives from both companies framed the move as the beginning of a "continuous system" for risk management.

"Underwriters no longer have to rely on assumptions or static questionnaires," said Dan Law, Head of Cyber Practice at HSB. "They now benefit from ongoing, system-backed evidence."

Global availability

The integrated offering is currently available to select customers and partners, with a broader global rollout scheduled for mid-2026.
